Together, we strive to feed human progress.Job Posting Title:CDL Driver - TEXJob Description:As a Driver, you will be a valued team member who operates diesel powered tractor trailer combination to transport and deliver products or materials in packaged form to company locations or business associates by performing the following duties.WAGE RANGE SALARY:Pay is determined by the mileage completed during the pay period and in accordance with your agreed upon mileage rate. (This position is non-exempt and paid bi-weekly.) Land O'Lakes, Inc offers a competitive salary and bonus potential. The company also provides a comprehensive benefits package as well as many other company sponsored benefits.Duties and Responsibilities: Promotes a positive corporate image to customers and coworkers by presenting a professional manner of conduct. You are representing Greenbelt and United Suppliers Inc!Drives tractor-trailer truck to scheduled destination for delivery of product.Inspects truck daily for defects before and after trips to assure units are in good mechanical condition, and submits report indicating truck condition.Ensures the unit is loaded legally, accurately and properly, and performs pre-trip and post-trip inspections.Operates the unit within DOT (391-397) guidelines, and when required, within HM-181 guidelines. This includes proper use of placards and abiding by DOT driving guidelines.Follows all safety policies and procedures, also utilizing energy conservation practices.Maintains driver log according to I.C. regulations, and trip mileage and fuel reports accurately.Retains various bill of ladings and delivery tickets required for product or freight billing.Transports packaged product in a timely, safe, accurate and professional manner.Assists workers in loading and unloading truck as necessary.Keeps units neat in appearance, cleaning it at least twice monthly.Other duties that may be assigned. Ability to write simple correspondence.Mathematical Skills - Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.Reasoning Ability - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions. Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.Certificates, Licenses, Registrations - Current Class A CDL License with airbrakes, HazMat and Tanker endorsements; valid medical certification or must be able to pass a current DOT physical, drug test, and alcohol test; and meet all other DOT requirements. Driving record must meet company and insurance carrier's policy guidelines.Training Requirements - Receive required training for programs such as hazardous materials, first aid awareness, forklift/loader, etc. (See Company Guideline Requirements).Physical Demands:While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; have dexterous use of both hands and finger; reach with hands and arms and talk, hear or smell. The employee is often required to stand; walk; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch. May occasionally lift and/or move up to 75-pound boxes and/or bags. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus. Seasonal peaks in operations may require weekend work and/or long working hours per day, possibly involving overnight travel.Work Environment While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly exposed to outside weather conditions and truck vibrations. The employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts.
