Description:Summary of Duties and Responsibilities:The Department
of Industrial and Manufacturing Systems Engineering in the College
of Engineering at Iowa State University (ISU) invites applications
for the position of tenure-track Assistant Professor in the area of
Operations Research and Data Analytics. Exceptional candidates with
commensurate experience and proven track record will be considered
for tenure and advanced rank of Associate or Full Professor, as
well as a named Professorship.Successful candidates will be
expected to establish, sustain and grow a world-class externally
funded research program that complements or aligns with the
department's areas through independent and collaborative efforts.
Additionally, the candidate is expected to establish a record of
scholarship at the highest levels, contribute to the teaching
missions at the undergraduate and graduate levels, and engage in
institutional service and service to the profession. Candidates
should have strong communication skills, share our commitment to
enhancing excellence through diversity and inclusion, and exhibit
the potential for long-term leadership in supporting the mission of

Description:About the Industrial and Manufacturing Systems
Engineering DepartmentThe IMSE Department offers the B.S. degree
program in industrial engineering plus M.S., MEng, and Ph.D.
programs in industrial engineering and MEng programs in systems
engineering and engineering management, with a total enrollment of
approximately 550 students. The undergraduate program consistently
ranks in the top 20 overall, and the industrial engineering
graduate program ranks in the top 25 among public universities by
US News & World Report. IMSE maintains externally funded research
expenditures in excess of $4 million annually and demonstrates a
commitment to diversity among faculty, staff, and students who can
enrich University objectives in the areas of research, teaching,
and service. IMSE currently has more than 16,000 square feet of
research and teaching laboratory space with enviable student
hands-on laboratory experiences. The new $54 million Therkildsen
Industrial Engineering Building is planned to open by early 2025,
with more than 50,000 square feet of space dedicated to the
