Contributes to the definition, deployment and maintenance of Submission Document Management systems and Regulatory daily business applications (e.g. Publishing Tool, Regulatory Information Management System) and ensures appropriate use thereof according to BI Corporate Requirements and pharmaceutical regulatory requirements.

 

The Senior Specialist Systems Business Support (SBS) implements user requirements into a clearly defined business process for use of a new or existing business application to cover the full lifecycle of all Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health products.

 

Globally, provides expertise, training, support to Key Users, System Users with different access levels across AH R&D, 3rd party service providers and management.

Duties & Responsibilities\:

 

  • Provide expertise, training and support for global, regional and local users, ensuring all business support commitments are met; resolve issues, inform users and other support groups of new or severe system problems, and create/update support documentation. This may be accomplished through face-to-face, telephone or online contacts as appropriate.

  • Identify and communicate updates to application information and procedures for IT Service Desk staff (first level technical support)and/or other RA Systems Business Support groups within IT and/Human Pharma for continuous improvement of the assigned systems.

  • Represent the business community during requirements gathering and application assessments. Implements the strategy to harmonize, communicate and deploy the business processes on global, regional and local level.

  • Support assigned business functions (AH R&D) and act as contact person in the case of complex and profound problems in the process area, following established support concepts.

  • Collaborate with the support operations manager within IT to resolve application problems, errors and incidents.

  • Also serve as point of contact as part of the Tier 2 support concept for resolving complex problems that Tier 1 cannot resolve.

  • Transfer process knowledge to the training organization and to the established support organization, including Tier 1 and Tier 2 support teams as well as IT as needed.

  • Plan and facilitate workshops and simulations in the process implementation and maintenance phases to define or clarify the business process. Gain user consensus and acceptance on the final process definition. Support the development and maintenance of a assigned business processes.

  • Ensure that the user groups are introduced to process and system changes, and that the impact of the change is minimized.

  • Act as a business consultant and provide expertise to establish the business requirements for new processes or change of existing processes.

  • Determine, design, model and further develop the business process in the application system in an international environment.  Generate user requirements, in conjunction with representatives from IT and Validation disciplines, and translate them into a clearly defined business process.

  • Ensure that a globally harmonized, productive and cost-effective business process is mapped in the application system.

  • Ensure process tolerability of global system changes.

  • Ensure and manage documentation of the business processes in standard BI process models, Guidelines, SOPs, manuals, etc.

  • Ensures integrity of our compliance with applicable regulations and guidance, both external and internal; application of relevant company procedures and processes related to IT systems.

 

Requirements Senior Specialist\:

 

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a relevant discipline with previous professional experience of at least two (2) years of experience.

  • In lieu of Bachelors degree, will accept an Associates Degree from an accredited institution with at least five (5) years of professional experience in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematics and/or Computer Science.

  • Methodological know-how in project management, business process analysis and user requirements analysis for computerized systems in the regulated environment of GxP and other regulations

  • Good knowledge of the technical architecture of regulatory systems and of the technical and application-related customizations and user interfaces.

  • Demonstrated advanced skill in analytical thinking.

  • Excellent communication, presentation, facilitation and conflict-solving skills

  • Ability to work under pressure.

  • Ability to travel internationally.

  • Excellent and proficient command of written and spoken English.

  • Demonstrated ability to summarize complex issues in key messages and adapt to regional presentation or communication practices.

  • Will have strong expertise in regulatory processes, especially those focusing on project management, system support, training and maintenance as well as the related processes in RA/R&D.

  • A customer service driven approach is essential.

Requirements Principal Specialist\:

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited institution in a relevant discipline with previous professional experience of at least four (4) years.

  • In lieu of a Bachelors degree, will accept an Associates Degree from an accredited institution with at least eight (8) years of professional experience in Biology, Chemistry, Engineering, Mathematics and/or Computer Science.

  • Methodological know-how in project management, business process analysis and user requirements analysis for computerized systems in the regulated environment of GxP and other regulations

  • Good knowledge of the technical architecture of regulatory systems and of the technical and application-related customizations and user interfaces.

  • Demonstrated advanced skill in analytical thinking.

  • Ability to work under pressure.

Eligibility Requirements\:

 

  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restriction.

  • Must be willing to take a drug test and post-offer physical (if required).

  • Must be 18 years of age or older.
