Job Description:Information Technology Services (ITS) at Iowa State University is seeking a Software Developer I/II to develop and support a wide range of C# and .NET applications. This position collaborates with the team leader to coordinate the design and development efforts for new functionality in new or existing applications that fulfills campus information technology needs.This position has responsibilities to resolve issues in currently deployed applications that may require interactions across multiple teams and is responsible for ensuring adherence to industry-standard development and testing standards. To be successful, the candidate should be fluent in architectural styles like REST (Representational State Transfer), SOA (Service Oriented Architecture), MVC (Model View Controller) and microservices. There are opportunities for engineering web applications and services for deployment in scalable and high-availability cloud environments. We seek someone with a thorough knowledge of object oriented and functional programming concepts, including development of user interface front-end and C#/.NET code for the server-side back-end. This position requires effective communication and presentation skills with the ability to work with all levels of the organization.This position may be hired at a level I or level II. In addition to the aforementioned responsibilities, the higher-level role will involve more complex projects, representing management at meetings, leading development efforts, and mentoring staff.
