Job Description Locums | OB/GYN Hospitalist | In-House Call | Des Moines, IA (IMLC Accepted) Why This Role Immediate locum need with consistent 24-hour in-house coverage OB hospitalist-only role with no GYN responsibilities High-acuity OBED environment with strong specialty support Work alongside MFM and residents without supervisory responsibility Unique opportunity to support Iowa’s only maternity transport team Assignment Details Start date: ASAP (April target) Ongoing coverage 24-hour in-house shifts (7a–7a) Providers may not work more than two consecutive 24-hour shifts In-house call with dedicated call rooms available Inpatient only No telehealth EMR: Epic Facility is not accepting local Des Moines providers Clinical Details OBED-focused hospitalist coverage Emergent OB patients including vaginal deliveries and C-sections Care for patients without a primary OB/GYN Approximately 1,389 OBED visits annually, with ~463 resulting in deliveries Eight-bed OB Emergency Department MFM on call for support Residents present, but OB hospitalist is not responsible for supervision No gynecologic responsibilities Requirements Board Certified OB/GYN (will consider truly Board Eligible candidates) Active Iowa license strongly preferred or active IMLC Ability to start ASAP (April target) Clean malpractice and background NPDB self-query required at submission Compensation Rates: Facility accepting bids Malpractice: Provided Travel & Lodging: Reimbursed
