accepting applications for a Mental Health Clinician and
Coordinator. This position will report to the Associate Athletics
Director for Sport Medicine and Performance and be responsible for
overseeing all case management for the Athletics Department and for
providing assessment, direct care, and/or referral for
psychological services to meet the needs of student-athletes.
Position will provide outreach programming, mental health and
wellness education, and crisis support. Conducts intake interviews
of clients and assesses needs to make appropriate referrals to
professionals and community resources. Provides mental health case
management for student-athletes. Provides individual, team, and
group psychotherapy to students. Assesses client needs through
interviews, tests, and observations. Conducts psychological,
substance abuse, and eating disorder assessments. Attends to and
evaluates the client's report of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors.
Provides treatment through psychotherapy and other resources.
Writes notes and reports on progress, program metrics, outsourcing
services usage, and related. Builds relationships with
professionals and community resources, evaluate those services,
recommend changes. Serves on committees. Participates in recruiting
visits for assigned prospects to talk about ISU mental health and
wellness services. Researches and develops educational materials
and prevention presentations. The successful candidate will possess
strong case management, time management, counseling, communication
and problem solving skills. Candidates are expected to be committed
to multiculturalism and working with a diverse student body.
Position must be flexible and able to meet with clients during
evenings or weekends as needed. Level Guidelines: Senior-level
position possessing high-level professional and/or technical skills
working independently under minimal supervision to support ISU's
mission and department or work unit goals Required Minimum
Qualifications: Master's degree and 3 years of related experience,
which may include a master's internship. Licensed to provide
clinical services. Preferred Qualifications: Skill in large volume
case management.Experience providing counseling services in a
university setting, with a young adult population and/or regarding
athlete issues.Experience building external relationships with
community providers and compiling a patient resource/referral
network.Direct understanding of athletics culture and environment.
