Note: This position can be based in Muscatine, IA or Jasper, IN.

belonging. What We Need: We are looking for a Director, Indirect
Procurement to join our HNI Corporation team! This role will
strategically manage the procurement and sourcing activities for
all indirect services categories such as: IT, facilities
management, marketing, real estate, travel, maintenance repair &
operations, and professional services. The goal will be to optimize
cost savings, drive supplier performance, and ensure the timely
delivery of high-quality services. What You Will Do: This position
provides exposure and a unique opportunity to work across all
business units and interface with cross functional leaders,
including but not limited to Legal, Finance, HR, Quality, EHS,
Operations; and additional individuals reporting directly to those
leaders.
- Category Strategy Development: Develop and implement individual
and comprehensive category strategies for indirect services,
aligned with the overall procurement objectives and organizational
goals.
- Supplier Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong
relationships with suppliers, negotiate contracts, and manage
supplier performance to ensure service level agreements (SLAs) are
met or exceeded.
- Sourcing and Contracting: Lead the sourcing process for
indirect services, including market research, supplier
identification, RFP/RFQ management, bid evaluation, contract
negotiation, and finalization.
- Cost Optimization: Identify and execute cost optimization
initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation,
contract negotiation, and process improvements.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks within the
indirect services categories by ensuring compliance with legal,
regulatory, and ethical standards, as well as assessing supplier
financial stability and implementing risk mitigation
strategies.
- Market Intelligence: Stay updated on market trends, industry
best practices, and emerging technologies within the indirect
services categories to drive innovation and continuous
improvement.
- Supplier Diversity: Promote supplier diversity by actively
seeking opportunities to engage diverse suppliers and supporting
the company's diversity and inclusion initiatives. What You Have:
- Proven track record of successfully developing and implementing
category strategies, driving cost savings, and managing supplier
relationships.
- Bachelor's degree, Master's degree preferred
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, strategic
sourcing, or category management, with a focus on indirect services
is required.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Professional in
Supply Management (CPSM) or Certified Professional in Supplier
Diversity (CPSD) are a plus.
- Advanced proficiency with the Microsoft Site
- Experience with SAP, Oracle is a plus. What You're Good At:
- Strong knowledge of indirect services categories, market
dynamics, and best practices.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal
skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the
ability to analyze complex data and make data-driven
decisions.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage
multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong business acumen and the ability to understand the
broader business context.
- Ability to think and communicate strategically with attention
