This position is part of the Office of Science - Ames Site Office, Department of Energy. As a Program Manager, you will serve as the Head of the Field Element for Ames Site Office (AMSO) and provides day-to-day oversight and evaluation of all aspects of the M&O contractor operations. This role includes Ames program implementation and federal stewardship of federal assets, technical and project oversight, and management of the internal operations of a SC Site Office.

          As a Program Manager, you will:
          • Provide general planning and assignment of work to subordinates and sets goals and expectations.
          • Ensure staff has requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform assigned tasks.
          • Analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of the mission accomplishment; quality and quantity standards; procedural, policy, regulatory compliance; and technical competence.
          • Develop and implement process improvements to eliminate or reduce barriers to production, team building, and business practices. Help

            • Obtain and maintain Federal Acquisition Certification - Contracting Officer Representative (FAC-COR) will be required.
            • This position is not included in a Bargaining Agreement. Qualifications

              SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS: A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in the Federal service. Specialized experience for this position is defined as:
              • Leading or managing staff in contracting, engineering, and administrative work in providing work assignments by setting goals.
              • Developing, recommending, and implementing best business practices in planning, organizing, and directing the work of government and contract personnel.
              • Using administrative laws, policies, regulations, and precedents applicable to the business initiatives and public-private partnership program.
              • Awareness of Science programs in implementing federal stewardship of federal assets, technical and project oversight, and management. The OPM Group Qualification Standard for this position is: 0340
