Job Description Job Description Job Title: Electrical Apprentice Job Description Join our team as an Electrical Apprentice, supporting journeymen in various electrical projects across Iowa and Omaha, NE. This role involves assisting in commercial, residential, utility, solar, audio-video, service, and fire projects. As an apprentice, you will run and bend conduit, pull cables, hang boxes and fixtures, and work with romex cable in residential settings. While experience is not necessary, a commitment to learning the trade and progressing through training is essential. Responsibilities Assist journeymen in commercial and residential electrical projects. Run and bend conduit, pull cables, and hang electrical boxes and fixtures. Work with romex cable in residential and multifamily projects. Utilize hand and power tools correctly. Read a tape measure accurately. Retain skills learned and demonstrate a willingness to learn the trade. Essential Skills Basic knowledge of electrical, conduit, wiring, and troubleshooting. Proficiency in using hand and power tools. Ability to read a tape measure to 1/16th of an inch and perform basic math. Possession of a valid driver's license. Minimum of 1 year of experience using hand tools or in electrical work. Additional Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Ability to bend, twist, kneel, and climb ladders for extended periods. Experience in commercial or residential electrical work is beneficial. Prior experience with appliance installation is advantageous. Why Work Here? Work Environment Enjoy a balanced work schedule from Monday to Friday, 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., with occasional optional overtime on Saturdays. We value work-life balance and do not push excessive overtime. The dress code includes jeans without holes, a professional tee shirt, and work boots. No cut-off shirts or shorts are allowed. PPE such as high-visibility vests, hard hats, glasses, and gloves are provided. Basic hand tools and a pouch are required. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Des Moines, IA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $17.00 - $23.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
