Position Information: Position Title:Administrative Specialist III - Apparel, Events, and Hospitality Management Job Group:Professional & Scientific Required Minimum Quals:Bachelor's degree and 2 years of related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience totaling 6 years. Experience must be at a comparable level and directly related to the duties of this position. Preferred Qualifications:Experience providing administrative support in a higher education setting.Experience in personnel management. Experience in a supervisory role.Experience working in a multicultural and diverse environment. Job Description: This position will provide leadership, management, planning, organizational and operational administration, department mission coordination, and direction of the day to day operations for the Department of Apparel, Events and Hospitality Management (AESHM). Responsibilities include strategic thinking, planning, organization, self motivation, flexibility and adaptability. Working collaboratively with the department chair, faculty, and staff to foster teaching, research, service and outreach missions. Coordinate with the Finance and HR Improved Service Delivery team members. Manage space, supervision of departmental support staff and student workers. Provides knowledge and guidance on university policies and procedures to faculty and staff. The position provides oversight and coordination of annual staff and faculty evaluations, faculty 3rd year reviews, activity reports, and promotion and tenure. In addition, this position will manage the chair's calendar/travel/meetings/communications, candidate interviews, committee support, high-alert situations/problem solving, event coordination, VIP visits, and website content.
